A Workshop That Makes Planning Outdoor Time Easy

The training by Mr Muhammad from Let’s Learn Outside expand my knowledge of creating more meaningful and fun outdoor activities for preschoolers. Before attending this course, my idea of outdoor learning is neighbourhood walks, playground time, treasure hunt and experiment of nature.

This training brought my attention of using stories to create exciting activities by using children’s imagination and involves children being in the mission. I also like the idea of brainstorming different ways of utilising simple props and tools in making the mission very engaging for the children.

Thank you for your infectious excitement and ideas! It was not new to us but the directives had made us take all these steps so seriously that we have forgotten to include the fun elements. So thank you for reminding us about how to gamify our routines.

The workshop has provided a range of insights for educators to conduct outdoor learning into a fun and engaging experience for children. With the safe distancing measures that will be implemented, we have gained new ideas from the workshop to further relook at our environment indoors and outdoors. Thank you for the wonderful sharing!

Our centre is relatively small and open concept and with your sharing on changing the school into an adventure, I believe it will make coming to school and observing social distancing more fun!

Muhammad is a passionate trainer. He brought with him a great wealth of knowledge and on-the-ground experiences as he shared with the teachers on how to create learning adventures outdoors using stories and expanding on our limited resources. My team and I took back with us many useful pointers for implementation in the classroom within an hour of his concise but impactful sharing! Thumbs up!

Workshop is very enriching. I learned about the learning adventure approach linking outdoor, play and stories together. Imagination adds more fun to play and play is not only vital before Covid-19, it is still vital during covid-19. We must see play not only available outdoor but indoor. Taking social distancing into account and how we can stretched our ideas to play with the children in school.

The zoom meeting (Learning Adventure Approach) with Muhammad was very insightful. The strategies shared were relevant and applicable to the current situation in our Preschool settings. The teachers are definitely more confident and creative in carrying outdoor activities with the children.
